- Conduct pre-drilling, drilling, and loading QA/QC activities to ensure compliance with mine plans and standards.
- Complete borehole surveys, hole pickups, and field verification activities.
- Monitor underground drilling and blasting activities and provide real-time feedback to operations and contractor crews.
- Conduct fragmentation analysis and assist with identifying opportunities to improve blasting performance and reduce oversize.
- Perform vibration monitoring and analyze blasting performance data.
- Assist with explosive quality control activities including density testing and loading verification.
- Track drilling and blasting performance metrics and maintain QA/QC databases and reporting systems.
- Work collaboratively with Engineering and Operations teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with testing and implementation of new blasting products, technologies, and procedures.
- Conduct underground inspections and field reviews to support safe and efficient operations.
- Support compliance with company safety standards, procedures, and applicable legislation.
- Assist with special projects and operational improvement initiatives as required.
- Other duties as assigned and required.
- Post-secondary education in Mining Engineering, Mine Technology, Surveying, or a related field.
- Previous underground mining experience required.
- Experience with underground drilling and blasting activities considered a strong asset.
- Operational underground mining experience considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with Deswik, AutoCAD, or other mine planning and CAD‑based software considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently underground with minimal supervision.
- Motivated self‑starter with strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Physically capable of performing underground fieldwork, including walking steep grades and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Valid Class G driver’s license required.
- Blasting certification or willingness to obtain certification considered an asset.
- Base salary range from $80,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Opportunity to earn up to a targeted 12.5% bonus on top of the proposed wage
