Environmental Technician

Position: Environmental Technician for Métis Nation
Location: Longlac

Contribute to the Métis Nation of Ontario as an Environmental Technician, gathering and analyzing critical environmental data both in the field and off-site. Engage in comprehensive monitoring while supporting Métis rights and land use.

This role involves a mix of data collection and analysis tied closely to the industrial activities of the project. You’ll work primarily on-site (80%) while also performing off-site tasks (20%). Key responsibilities include reviewing operations, developing community contacts, and conducting various environmental surveys. Collaboration is integral as you will liaise with both the Environmental Team and MNO representatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and analyze environmental data on-site and off-site

• Review permits, plans, and ongoing operations

• Plan engagement activities with the MNO community

• Assist in environmental monitoring surveys

• Record and report all activities and findings

Requirements:

• College diploma in a relevant field or equivalent experience

• 1 to 3 years in environmental or related fields

• Understanding of Métis issues and environmental technology

• Valid driver’s license with clean abstract

• Experience with field equipment and outdoor operations
