Intermediate Civil Technologist

Elevate your design skills as an Intermediate Civil Technologist with the City of Thunder Bay. This role focuses on creating essential designs for infrastructure projects and involves hands-on applications of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

In this position, you will work under the guidance of a Supervisor in Design and Field Engineering while gaining valuable technical expertise. Your responsibilities will encompass preparing drawings for various infrastructure types, including roads and sewers, and processing applications for water and sewer connections. You will also assist in updating vital GIS databases and participate in contract documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design infrastructure including roads, bridges, and drainage

• Prepare and revise City maps and construction drawings

• Create cost estimates and bills of materials

• Provide project information to City Divisions and Consultants

• Collect traffic data and assist with inspections

Requirements:

• Diploma in civil engineering technology

• Minimum three years of relevant experience

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D

• Basic knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets

• Ability to travel to various work locations
