Primary Care Paramedic

Become a vital member of the City of Thunder Bay as a Primary Care Paramedic. You'll perform patient assessments, provide emergency care, and ensure safe transportation in a dynamic EMS setting.

Under the supervision of the Superintendent – EMS Operations, you will assess and treat patients during emergency cases. Utilizing your skills in Basic and Advanced Life Support, you are expected to maintain documentation while responding swiftly to ambulance calls. This role requires strong teamwork, outstanding communication skills, and adherence to municipal and health safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to ambulance calls and report movements promptly

• Conduct thorough patient triage assessments

• Administer care following Basic and Advanced Life Support standards

• Document call reports as per Ontario Ambulance standards

• Maintain and decontaminate equipment and vehicles

Requirements:

• Must be a certified Primary Care Paramedic

• Valid Ontario Class “F” driver's license required

• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork

• Two years’ experience preferred

• Ability to comply with health safety regulations
