Hospital Housekeeping Attendant

Support patient care through professional cleaning at the Health Sciences Centre, using floor machines and infection control practices. Regular attendance is imperative.

This Housekeeping Attendant role requires Grade 12 education, English literacy, and previous cleaning experience in patient care areas. Duties include dry mopping, wet mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and dusting. The position supports patient and family centred care by maintaining environments aligned with patient preferences, needs, and values. Candidates should understand computers and Microsoft programs, work with minimum supervision, and demonstrate teamwork, logical thinking, and self motivation.

• Clean patient care areas using established cleaning techniques
• Dry mop, wet mop, sweep, vacuum, and dust
• Operate various floor machines safely and effectively
• Work within environmental elements and physical job requirements
• Support patient and family centred care through clean environments

• Grade 12 education and ability to read and write English
• Previous cleaning experience in patient care areas
• Knowledge of infection control practices is preferred
• Understanding of computers and Microsoft programs
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate teamwork skills
