Rock Tools Technician

Location: Greenstone

Overview  Rock Tools Technician — Geraldton, Ontario.

Schedule:

14/14 rotation, day shifts (drive-in/drive-out). Entry‑level role that supports rock tools contracts by guiding correct usage of tools, management and distribution of products.
Responsibilities   Manage rock tools inventory and track all new issues, discards and losses.
Repair and maintain rock tools to defined specifications.
Deliver rock tools products to customers.
Utilize Rock Tools Management System to monitor and report on tool performance.
Troubleshoot and provide technical recommendations to the Supervisor and Sandvik Sales and Service Representatives.
Report occurrences indicating improper usage or selection by operators.
Complete accurate time records, technical reports and failure reports.
Build sound relationships with the rock tools team and internal/external customers to ensure smooth operations.
Perform daily/weekly stock counts.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Environmental Health and Safety   Comply with safety policies and applicable regulations or requirements.
Identify and report unsafe work habits, workplace incidents and near misses.
Perform risk assessments ("Take Five") prior to each task.
Maintain hand tools and equipment to ensure safe operation.
Maintain orderly work area and housekeeping requirements are met.
Attend Environmental, Health and Safety trainings.
Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) for each task.
Qualifications   Completion of Secondary School (High school).
Knowledge or experience with industry-specific equipment (mining or construction) is an asset.
Knowledge or experience with Sandvik products is an asset.
Ability to work as part of an integrated team; detail-oriented; strong written and verbal communication skills.
Flexible, self-motivated with demonstrated initiative.
Proficiency with Outlook and Microsoft Office.
Full G drivers license in good standing.
Common Core is considered an asset.
Ability and willingness to work varied shifts as required.
