Log Yard Supervisor

Position: Log Yard Supervisor at Domtar
Domtar seeks a Log Yard Supervisor for its Thunder Bay Sawmill. Lead operations in safety, inventory management, and quality assurance while ensuring effective log delivery and organization.

As the Finishing & Shipping Supervisor, you will report to the Log Yard Shipping & Kilns General Supervisor.

Your role encompasses overseeing log deliveries, maintaining inventory control, and fostering a safe working environment. In collaboration with sawmill personnel, you will ensure quality logs are handled to minimize breakage and enhance value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure highest safety standards in log yard operations

• Manage log yard inventory for appropriate species and size

• Develop a log inventory control system for quality tracking

• Ensure tidy and organized log yards to minimize breakage

• Supervise quality standards for shipping production

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or related field

• 3-5 years of experience with heavy equipment

• Proven leadership progression in previous roles

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Knowledge of MS Office and sawmill equipment
