As a Registered Nurse, you will provide compassionate,evidence-based nursing care while supporting patients throughout their dental treatmentjourney. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluateindividualized care, ensuring patient safety and comfort during dental procedures involving sedation. Thisrole requires excellentclinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient carein a fast-paced dental environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide direct patient care before,during, and afterdental procedures.
- Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and recognize changesin patient condition.
- Administer medications within scope of practice and monitor patient response.
- Assist with alllevels of dentalsedation by monitoringpatients throughout treatment and recovery.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient documentation to support continuity of care.
- Educate patients andtheir families on treatment plans, pre and post-operative instructions, medications, and healthmaintenance.
- Perform wound assessment and basic woundcare when required.
- Utilize telemetry and patient monitoring equipment, where applicable, toensure patient safetyduring sedation.
- Advocate for patients' needs and provide compassionate,patient-centered care.
- Collaborate closely withdentists, dental assistants, hygienists, and administrative staff to deliver seamless patient care.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in continuous learning and quality improvement initiatives.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or eligibility for registration in another Canadian province with the ability to transfer registration.
- Successful completion ofan accredited nursing program (Diploma or Bachelor of Sciencein Nursing).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Musthave successfully completed the CRNE orNCLEX-RN.
- Experience is not required—we welcome new graduates andentry-level applicants.
- Experience in directpatient care within a clinicalor hospital settingis considered anasset.
- Previous experience with medical/surgical nursing, or sedation is an asset.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support(ACLS) certification is considered an asset.
