Territory Manager – Northern Ontario (Thunder Bay Area)

Permanent | Full-Time (40 hrs/week) | Management (non-union)

Our client, an established provider of outpatient addiction treatment across Ontario, is looking for a Territory Manager to lead a group of clinics across Northern Ontario. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who wants to build strong, supportive clinic teams and make a real difference in patient care in communities that need it.

You'll oversee day-to-day clinic operations, build and develop your teams, and keep clinic performance on track using KPIs. You'll be the go-to leader for the nursing teams in your territory — handling scheduling, hiring, performance management, training and policy questions — and you'll step in to help cover staffing gaps when needed. Office days are flexible and can be worked from a clinic or from home.

Location

requirement:
Candidates must live within 50 km of Thunder Bay, ON. Open to nursing and non-healthcare backgrounds: A nursing background (RN/RPN) is an asset, but we will also consider strong multi‑site operations leaders who don't have healthcare experience. Please note – this role involves heavy travel.

You must be comfortable with frequent long-distance driving across Northern Ontario. Mileage, employer-booked hotels and a daily meal allowance are provided.

Key Responsibilities Operations (approx. 80%)
  • Manage day-to-day operations of a group of clinics, including performance and regular KPI reporting
  • Mentor and guide clinic staff to build a culture of empowerment, respect and non-judgement
  • Support and train new and existing staff to deliver optimal patient care, working as one team with pharmacy partners
  • Oversee staff scheduling and maintain appropriate staffing at each clinic
  • Lead hiring: staffing requests, resume review, interviews and offers
  • Hold regular huddles at each clinic to share updates, give feedback and act on staff concerns
  • Complete performance reviews with support from the Regional Manager; elevate high-impact issues
  • Liaise with union representatives to foster positive working relationships
  • Uphold policies, procedures and health & safety requirements; action clinic repair requests
  • Approve payroll timecards (ADP)
  • Provide relief coverage in clinics when critical staffing issues can't otherwise be resolved
Community Engagement (approx. 20%)
  • Build relationships with community organizations to promote services
  • Identify opportunities to expand services through community partnerships (e.g., addiction counselling)
  • Educate direct reports on using community resources
What You Bring
  • Post‑secondary education in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience (healthcare preferred, but not required)
  • CNO Certificate of Competence preferred; other medical certifications an asset
  • Experience managing operations across multiple sites; addiction or mental health settings an asset
  • Proven ability to lead teams through change
  • Experience working with unionized staff considered an asset
  • Comfort with MS Office, KPI tracking/reporting and multi‑site scheduling; ADP an asset
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Satisfactory criminal record check (completed during onboarding, after an offer is accepted)
  • A commitment to respectful, non-judgemental care for people seeking addiction treatment
  • Range of $65,000 – $75,000/year
  • Vacation time plus 10 wellness days per year (5 paid, 5 unpaid)
  • RRSP matching (1%)
  • Continuing education credit and nursing licence reimbursement
  • Mileage at $0.58/km, employer-booked hotels and $50/day meal allowance when travelling
