Community Safety Officer

Position: Community Safety Officer City
Serve the City of Thunder Bay as a Community Safety Officer focused on law enforcement and public security initiatives. This position highlights community interaction and proactive safety measures in public spaces.

In this role, you'll patrol various municipal properties, responding to community concerns and safety incidents. Your tasks will involve conducting security patrols, monitoring properties for unauthorized activities, and upholding municipal by-law requirements. You will also work closely with residents and community resources to address safety issues, enforce regulations, and promote a welcoming atmosphere for all.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol city properties, ensuring safety and security

• Engage promptly with community members on safety issues

• Investigate and address by-law violations effectively

• Provide assistance and support on city transit

• Collaborate with social services for resident outreach

Requirements:

• Graduated from a law enforcement program or equivalent experience

• Possession of a valid Ontario Security Officer's Licence

• Strong interpersonal and community engagement skills

• Experience in public safety or enforcement roles

• Capacity to perform arrest procedures appropriately
