Job Overview
District Summer Caseworker Assistant – Marathon, Nipigon, Geraldton, ON.Full‑Time Summer Employment for 8 Weeks.
Monday to Friday (days).$24.50 per hour.
- Providing therapeutic support to children, youth, and caregivers in their homes
- Linking children, families, and youth to community resources
- Providing support to children and youth in care
- Supporting foster families
- Traveling between district offices to meet service demand
- Facilitating and supervising family time visits between children in the care of the Society and their families
- Degree, diploma or current enrollment in a social work, social service or child and youth care post‑secondary program, or related human services program
- Demonstrated ability to develop helping relationships with children, youth, and families
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, comfortable working with families in their homes
- Commitment to a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion with a focus on eliminating disparity in service outcomes
- Valid "G" Driver’s License and safe driving record (no more than two driving offences in the past three‑year period, and/or no more than five demerit points)
- Access to a personal vehicle and proof of one‑million‑dollar liability insurance coverage
- Criminal Records Check – Vulnerable Sector deemed satisfactory to the Employer
