Youth Worker

Position: Full-Time Youth Worker
Be an empowering force for young women as a Youth Worker at William W. Creighton Youth Services in Thunder Bay, Ontario. This full-time contracted role focuses on trauma-responsive care for youth affected by exploitation.

We are hiring an interim Youth Worker for our Out-of-Home Care program, providing support to young women aged 12 to 17. You will leverage your understanding of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and relevant legislation to foster a nurturing environment. A commitment to cultural sensitivity towards equity-deserving populations is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support youth in a trauma-informed environment

• Implement harm reduction strategies effectively

• Ensure compliance with health & safety standards

• Advocate for equity-deserving populations

• Provide emotional and crisis support when necessary

Requirements:

• Child and Youth Worker Diploma preferred

• Valid First Aid and CPR certification

• Strong understanding of relevant legislation

• Clear Broad Records Check

• Ability to work shift work
