Empower Indigenous women as a Development Coordinator with ONWA, fostering healing through culturally-rooted support services. Guide advocacy efforts in navigating family violence and safety.
The Ontario Native Women’s Association seeks a coordinator to oversee the Breaking Free from Family Violence program. This full-time role targets candidates with a degree in Social Sciences or related fields and at least three years of relevant community service experience. You will ensure that support workers deliver high-quality services to Indigenous women facing violence and child welfare issues while cultivating essential program standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and build capacity for service delivery across the province
• Support Breaking Free from Family Violence Support Workers in program implementation
• Assess community needs and tailor services accordingly
• Facilitate workshops and resource development for staff
• Establish and maintain relationships with service agencies
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
• Minimum three years' experience in project coordination
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of Child Welfare Systems affecting Indigenous populations
• Proficiency in MS Office and general office duties
