Transit Operator

Become a vital part of Thunder Bay Transit as a Transit Operator. Safely transport passengers while providing exceptional customer service and assistance to those with accessibility needs.

Under the guidance of the Supervisor, this role involves operating city buses and vans in alignment with established routes. You will engage with the public to provide information and assist passengers, ensuring a safe and accommodating journey for all. Familiarity with city streets is a plus for navigating transit efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate buses and vans according to transit routes

• Assist passengers with disabilities and mobility devices

• Collect fares and issue validated transfers

• Provide courteous responses to customer inquiries

• Report on vehicle conditions and document incidents

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education or equivalent experience

• Frontline customer service experience required

• Valid Class G Ontario Driver's Licence

• Competency as defined by the Corporation

• Ability to handle various weather and passenger challenges

Deliver quality service and safety as a Transit Operator in Thunder Bay.
