Location: Camp Programs – The League for People with Disabilities

Position Summary

The Lead Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) plays a critical leadership role within the Camp Programs at The League for People with Disabilities. This position provides direct behavioral support to campers while serving as a mentor and on-site leader for Behavioral Technicians and camp staff.

The Lead RBT ensures the implementation of behavior support plans, promotes positive camper outcomes, and helps create a safe, inclusive, and engaging camp environment for individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Camper Support & Behavioral Services:
  • Provide direct 1:1 and small-group behavioral support to campers in accordance with individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Implement evidence‑based behavior strategies under the supervision of a BCBA or designated clinical supervisor.
  • Monitor, collect, and document behavioral data accurately and consistently.
  • Support campers with daily routines, transitions, social interactions, emotional regulation, and participation in camp activities.
  • Ensure camper safety, dignity, and well‑being at all times.
  • Leadership & Staff Support:
  • Serve as the Lead RBT on‑site, providing guidance, coaching, and modeling best practices for RBTs and camp staff.
  • Assist with training new Behavioral Technicians and camp staff on behavior support strategies and documentation expectations.
  • Act as a point of contact for behavioral concerns during camp hours.
  • Support consistency and fidelity of behavior plan implementation across camp settings.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Collaborate closely with BCBAs, Camp Directors, nurses, therapists, and program staff.
  • Communicate effectively with families, supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions.
  • Compliance & Professional Standards:
  • Maintain active RBT certification and adhere to BACB ethical guidelines.
  • Follow all League policies, camp procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Complete required documentation, incident reports, and data submissions in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Required:
  • Active Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) certification in good standing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, ABA, or related field preferred).
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities in a behavioral, educational, or camp setting.
  • Experience implementing behavior intervention plans.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and support staff in a fast‑paced environment.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to meet physical demands of camp programming (standing, walking, lifting, outdoor activities).
  • Preferred:
  • Experience in a camp or recreational program setting.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with data collection systems and behavior tracking tools.
  • Strong crisis prevention and de‑escalation skills.
