Salary: $400 per respite weekend
Position SummaryWe’re seeking a Camp Respite Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen operations during weekend camp respites. Under the guidance of the Kitchen Manager and Camp Nurse, you'll help prepare and serve meals for campers and staff, maintain a clean and safe kitchen, and accommodate a variety of dietary needs. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves to work behind the scenes, has an eye for cleanliness, and enjoys being part of a fun, purposeful team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals for campers and staff.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
- Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and maintain an orderly kitchen and dining space.
- Support dietary accommodations and assist with portioning meals according to individual needs.
- Receive and store food deliveries properly.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and camp staff to ensure timely meal service.
- Help create a warm, welcoming dining environment that enhances the camper experience.
- Assist in cleanup and closing kitchen duties at the end of each camp weekend.
- Ability to work weekend shifts (typically Friday evening to Sunday afternoon).
- Willingness to work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.
- Prior experience in food service, dining hall, or kitchen work (not required).
- Serv Safe certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Familiarity with special diets or food allergies.
