Catapult is Assisting our member, Griplock Systems, in finding a Production Buyer in Duncan, SC.
Are you a recent Supply Chain Management graduate looking to launch your career in a manufacturing environment where you can gain hands‑on experience across purchasing, inventory, production, logistics, and operations? What You'll DoAs our Production Buyer / Operations Trainee, you'll play a key role in ensuring materials and products flow efficiently through our manufacturing process. You'll work closely with suppliers, production teams, quality control, customer service, and leadership to support daily operations.
Responsibilities Include- Purchasing materials, commodities, and services to support production requirements
- Managing supplier relationships, pricing, and delivery schedules
- Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating replenishment activities
- Preparing supplier forecasts and blanket purchase orders
- Supporting international and domestic logistics, shipping, and freight coordination
- Processing trade and customs‑related documentation
- Researching suppliers and obtaining competitive quotations
- Working with receiving and quality teams to resolve material discrepancies and supplier issues
- Maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting cycle counts and annual physical inventories
- Learning production processes through hands‑on experience on the manufacturing floor
- Assisting with month‑end inventory activities and reporting
- Entering and maintaining supplier information within company systems
- Communicating material shortages, delays, and supply issues to internal stakeholders
- Supporting operational activities and providing backup support for production supervision when needed
We're looking for someone who is eager to learn and excited to build a career in supply chain, manufacturing, and operations.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management preferred
- Degrees in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Economics, or related fields will also be considered
- Strong interest in manufacturing, procurement, inventory management, and operational leadership
- Internship, co‑op, or work experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or purchasing is a plus
- MRP/ERP system experience is beneficial but not required
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities
- Willingness to take initiative and continuously learn
