Mortgage Field Services Inspector

Overview

FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Based in Reno, NV, contractors earn predictable income with a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required; strong time management and deadline meeting are essential.

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The purpose of the property inspection is to verify property occupancy and report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.

• Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
• Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
• Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in an app.
• Require ability to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

• Computer with an internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will be paying for your own gas).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume. Equivalent of $30-$40 per hour. Depending on county and urban or rural you will complete anywhere from 20-500 inspections per month working 2-30 hours per week.
