Adjunct Faculty, Animal Science

Location: ABAC Recruiting Location.

Job Type: Part-Time, Temporary.

Job Summary

ABAC’s Department of Agriculture is a interdisciplinary group of scholars who offer courses supporting our B.S. degrees in Agribusiness, Agricultural Technology Management, Agriculture, Environmental Horticulture, Agricultural Education, and Agricultural Communication.

We are seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach courses in the area of Animal Science. Part‑time, temporary adjunct faculty may instruct one or two courses a semester on an as‑needed basis. Possible courses include Introduction to Animal Science, Introduction to Poultry Science, Elements of Dairying, Applied Animal Nutrition, Beef Production, Beef Industry, Equine Exercise Physiology, Equine Production Management, Food Animal Evaluation and Selection, Forage Crops and Pastures, Herd Health, Meat Production, Process and Market, or Physiology of Reproduction.

Teaching assignments will depend on the candidate’s areas of interest and expertise and student needs. Courses may be offered in a traditional face‑to‑face format or online, depending upon the need. The Department currently offers courses face‑to‑face and online at ABAC’s main site in Tifton and online to service the instructional site in Bainbridge. Applicants interested in teaching at either site are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

Teach one or two courses a semester on an as‑needed basis. Develop and deliver course content, conduct assessments, provide academic support, and employ current technology in instructional activities, including laboratories. Instructors will adapt to both traditional face‑to‑face and online formats as required.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in an animal science related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours related directly to the major.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to use current technology in support of instructional activities (including laboratories).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching animal science economics courses at the college level.
  • Professional work experience in animal science or closely related fields.
