What You’ll Do

As a Project Engineer, you’ll play a key role in bridging the field and office. You’ll coordinate project controls, communicate across teams, and help ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and on budget. You’ll gain direct exposure to steel erection (REFA partnership) and learn how fabrication and erection come together seamlessly in the field.

Responsibilities
  • Support field teams and Superintendents with daily coordination, safety, and documentation.
  • Participate in RFIs, submittals, and shop drawing reviews.
  • Track materials and equipment procurement to align with erection schedules.
  • Assist with QA/QC inspections and documentation, ensuring compliance with codes and project specifications.
  • Actively learn the sequencing of steel erection and how it integrates with fabrication and other trades.
  • Attend OAC, Trade Partner, and safety meetings; document and follow through on action items.
  • Support cost tracking and change order processes.
  • Participate in project closeout, including as-builts, O&M manuals, and warranty collection.
What’s In It for You
  • Direct exposure to steel erection/REFA fieldwork — an opportunity to learn one of the most specialized areas of construction.
  • Hands-on mentorship from seasoned Project Managers and Superintendents.
  • A balanced role that blends office coordination with jobsite learning.
  • Growth potential into higher-level Project Engineer and Project Manager roles.
What You Need to Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred) OR 2–4 years of field experience.
  • Internship, co-op, or 1–2 years of prior project engineering / construction experience.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (Procore, CMiC, or equivalent).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Desire to learn the erection side of the industry and grow your expertise.
The Musts
  • Safety-first mindset—willing to support and participate in jobsite safety culture.
  • Eagerness to learn both fabrication and erection processes.
  • Clear, professional communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and follow-through.
Preferred
  • Prior exposure to steel erection projects.
  • Experience working with trade partners on large commercial or industrial projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam Revu.
