Overview
Compass Oncology, the largest private practice cancer care center in the Pacific Northwest, is looking to add an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) at their West Cancer Center located in Tigard, OR. The APP/Physician Assistant will support our medical oncologists in seeing patients, educating patients on treatments, and providing general support to maintain the high level of care our patients expect. While oncology experience is preferred, a heart of service and a desire to continue our mission will help you find success.

- Employment Type: Full-Time, 32 Hours (0.8 FTE)
- Location: West Cancer Center, 12123 SW 69th Avenue, Tigard, OR 97223
- Salary: $113,048 – $204,443 (1.0 FTE scale, adjusted for FTE)
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for individual patients.
- Initiate and document appropriate interventions; evaluate and record patient/family response within practice protocol; prescribe drug therapies per protocol or physician consultation.
- Assist physicians and perform procedures as needed; conduct patient assessments and provide physicians with information prior to patient encounters.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide education.
- Promote wellness and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Promote and provide staff education.
- Incorporate evidence‑based research into clinical practice.
- Maintain knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
- Complete patient charge tickets.
- Mentor new mid‑level providers as needed.
- Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current NCCPA certification.
- Active state license as a Physician Assistant in the practicing state.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant (preferred).
The role requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing, walking for extensive periods, and occasionally lifting up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing are required.
Work EnvironmentThe environment includes exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
