We are looking for an experienced LPN to support our outpatient practice within our Gynecology Oncology team. This position will support our West Cancer Center in Tigard, OR. Nurses working at Compass are an important part of the interdisciplinary team that supports the extraordinary care provided to our patients. This individual will work alongside our gynecology oncology team that includes our providers, an RN, Medical Assistants, and schedulers.
The team’s primary focus is to work collectively to help guide our patients through their cancer care journey. The qualified individual will be utilizing the nursing process addressing the acute and chronic needs of the patient with a cancer diagnosis, answering clinical questions, and gathering information for our providers to inform care delivery decisions.
Employment Type: Full-Time, 40 Hours M‑F
Location: West Cancer Clinic (Tigard, OR)
Salary Range: $29.35 – $44.59 per hour
- Screen patients for appropriate information.
- Administer treatments such as wound care, bladder scans, void trials, etc. in accordance with nursing standards.
- Assist with the preparation of equipment and aid physician during examination and procedures.
- Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to providers.
- Order/prescribe medications as directed by provider.
- Provide patient education, including pre/post operative patient education on procedures, medications, and recovery expectations.
- Respond to/refers incoming telephone calls. Instruct patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
- Recognize when escalation is required to RN to maintain compliance with nurse practice act and state regulations for LPNs.
- Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and current medication reconciliation.
- Perform EKG and oximetry readings as requested by the provider.
- Send referrals, place orders, and request medical records as outlined by the provider.
- Maintain patient files, records, and other information.
- Initiate IV fluids and IV therapeutic medications in accordance with LPN/LVN state nurse practice act.
- Participate in cross‑training programs to develop skills across multiple areas of the practice and provide support where needed. Demonstrates reliability and punctuality by consistently showing up on time and maintaining dependable attendance to support team operations and organizational goals.

- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing.
- This position requires at least 3 years’ experience as a practical nurse.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state.
- Current American Heart Association accredited BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
