Job
IAI Industrial Systems, part of HID Global, is a leading supplier of advanced systems for the global security printing market, developing and manufacturing high‑end solutions for passports, identity cards and banknotes. It operates in an international, high‑tech environment where multidisciplinary collaboration is key.
The Mechatronics Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and validating mechatronic subsystems with a strong focus on electrical design, motion control and PLC‑based machine control. The role works within multidisciplinary project teams and contributes to the development of complex industrial machinery, ensuring designs meet functional specifications, machine safety standards, and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
Translating specifications into functional designs and control concepts (PLC, motion, safety)
Designing and documenting electrical systems including schematics and I/O structures
Developing, testing and maintaining PLC-based control software
Implementing and optimizing motion control solutions
Testing and validating systems against functional and safety requirements
Analyzing and resolving technical issues and machine failures
Supporting Assembly & Testing, Service and Project Engineering teams
Working in multidisciplinary engineering teams
Contributing to system architecture and concept development
Participating in integration and commissioning activities
Preparing and maintaining technical documentation
Supporting standardization and continuous improvements
Interfacing with suppliers and stakeholders
Qualifications
Bachelor or Master degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related field
3–5 years of experience in machine building or mechatronic systems
Experience with PLC programming (e.g. Siemens, Beckhoff, B&R)
Experience with motion control systems
Experience with electrical design tools (e.g. EPLAN)
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Willingness to travel occasionally
