Cost Specialist

Prepare cost estimates and provide cost advice during project realisation and maintenance phases.

Responsibilities

Prepare cost estimates according to the SSK methodology using Excel.

Provide technical expertise in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation and/or Mechanical Engineering.

Ensure agreements with the client are properly incorporated.

Coordinate with the technical team regarding prices, quantities and scope.

Calculate and verify quantities.

Assess VTWs (Variations/Change Orders) and contractor quotations.

Coordinate with the contract team and, where necessary, with the relevant IPM role holder.

Participate in negotiations with contractors regarding proposed prices.

Review and analyse contractor quotations and detailed budgets.

Translate technical requirements into quantities, materials, equipment and labour costs.

Identify opportunities for improving quality and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

Completed HBO Bachelor's or WO Master's degree, preferably in:

Electrical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Another relevant technical discipline

Fluent Dutch, both written and spoken.

Experience in assessing and analysing quotations.

Ability to work physically on the project site on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, mainly in Tilburg, with occasional work in Den Bosch and Veghel.

Required Skills

At least 5 years of experience with cost calculations and cost advice for management, construction, renovation and maintenance projects within:

Electrical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Preferred Skills

Experience working with Client, particularly on projects involving E/W and Industrial Automation installations for nautical infrastructure.

More than 3 years of demonstrable experience with SSK, cost-control standards and guidelines.

At least 10 years of professional experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and/or Industrial Automation.

VCA-VOL certificate, or willingness to obtain it at their own expense.

GPI certificate, or willingness to obtain it before starting.

Knowledge and experience with:

ISO 9001

Systems-oriented Contract Management (SCB)
