Job Overview

The New Hampshire Veterans Home is hiring a LAUNDRY WORKER (Job ) for a full‑time position on the first shift. The role supports the daily laundry operations in a NH healthcare or home health facility, ensuring quality and productivity for veterans.

Schedule:

• Day shift, 4:00 am – 12:00 pm (varies between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm)
• Weekend work may be required (additional $2.00/hour)
• Rotating holidays

Compensation:

• $14.40 – $18.46 per hour
• Full compensation package for full‑time employees

• Collect, sort, and load soiled linens and garments into washers and dryers.
• Remove stains, fold clean linens, count, record daily throughput, and make proper deliveries to assigned units.
• Check for items left in pockets, remove fecal matter and food if present.
• Washes contaminated laundry following proper procedures.
• Code laundry by building, floor, or unit, and ensure returns to proper locations.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, including machines, worktables, and sorting zones.
• Operate large and small laundry machines and related tools such as ironers, folders, and presses.
• Use protective gear and follow infection control and universal precautions policies.
• Lift and carry laundry up to 80 lbs and items up to 25 lbs regularly.
• Report equipment issues or malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.

• Minimum: 8th grade education.
• Preferred:
  Experience in a commercial or institutional laundry setting.
• Education and experience may be substituted one-for-one as per state regulations.
