Direct Care & Nursing Stipend up to $25.00/week

Schedule: Two 12-hour shifts (7:00pm - 7:00am) (additional $4.00/hour);
Two 8-hour shifts (11:00pm - 7:00am) (additional $7.00/hour);
Rotating weekends (additional $2.00/hour)

Job Summary

Summary:

LPN I:
Performs nursing care to residents within an assigned unit under supervision of RN.

LPN II:
Performs certified level nursing care, may work as charge nurse.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

LPN I
  • Education: Completion of a recognized school of practical nursing approved by the State Board of Nursing Education and Nurse Registration.
  • Experience: No experience required other than that obtained through required training.
  • License/Certification: Must possess a current license as a practical nurse or temporary permit issued by New Hampshire Board of Nursing.
LPN II
  • Education: Completion of a recognized school of practical nursing approved by the State Board of Nursing Education and Nurse Registration.
  • Experience: Three years of experience as an LPN.
  • License/Certification: Must possess current license as a practical nurse and be certified by National Federation of Licensed Practical Nurses (NFLPN), Inc. or recognized organization.
Special Requirements
  • Completion of the experience and certification requirements of the LPN II level.
  • Successful performance evaluation.
  • Recommendation of the supervisor.
Responsibilities LPN I
  • Documents provided nursing care in the residents’ records.
  • Administers prescribed medications and records effects.
  • Utilizes selective components of the nursing process to provide data for writing individual Plan-of-Care.
  • Supervises LNA’s and makes periodic rounds of the unit to ascertain quality of care given and checks for cleanliness and resident safety.
  • Reports routine and unusual facts and situations to nurse manager or designee.
  • Discusses problems and changes in residents to Physician and allied consulting health professionals.
  • Provides nursing assistant support including direct ADL care, bathing, transfers, and lifting.
  • Educates residents to their care plan and courses of action.
  • Briefs family members/guardians about the resident’s care, care plan and current progress.
  • Admits, transfers and discharges residents as directed by attending physician.
  • Ensures compliance with CPR techniques.
LPN II
  • Documents nursing care in the residents’ records.
  • Administers prescribed medications and records effects.
  • Utilizes selective components of the nursing process to provide data for writing individual Plan-of-Care.
  • Supervises LPN I’s and LNA’s and makes periodic rounds of the unit to ascertain quality of care given.
  • Reports routine and unusual facts and situations to nurse manager or designee.
  • Discusses problems and changes in residents to Physician and allied consulting health professionals.
  • Counsels residents to their care plan and courses of action.
  • Briefs family members/guardians about the resident’s care, care plan and current progress.
  • Admits, transfers and discharges residents as directed by attending physician.
  • Provides nursing assistant support including direct care, bathing, transfers, feeding and lifting.
  • Interacts cooperatively and provides certified paraprofessional nursing services with other healthcare providers.
  • Ensures compliance with CPR techniques.
