SummaryTo perform skilled maintenance, installation and repair work on state buildings, equipment and grounds and to maintain the operating condition of machinery and equipment at the New Hampshire Veterans Home (NHVH).
Education & Experience- Minimum 2 years of education and experience after high school in general maintenance and repair work.
- Experience in carpentry, electricity, painting, plumbing, masonry, sheet metal, welding, auto repair or related trade.
- Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and vice versa.
Valid driver’s license.
Other Requirements- Willing and able to work holidays, weekends, and varying shifts.
- Full 3rd shift schedule: 11:00 pm – 7:30 am.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse community.
- Proficiency with a personal computer and related software applications.
- Perform preventive maintenance and maintain NHVH equipment including beds, lifts, tubs, air handlers, compressors, circulator pumps, DDC control systems, and other equipment used by residents and staff.
- Perform skilled work in carpentry, masonry, electricity, painting and/or plumbing in maintenance and repair of state buildings, grounds and equipment.
- Clean, oil, grease, maintain and adjust equipment, tools and machinery to ensure consistent and safe operating condition.
- Fabricate, weld, and/or braze parts for special equipment and replacement parts as needed.
