Job Title: Surveying Services Supervisor

Rotation: 5 days in/2days off

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Caron Equipment is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Technical Services Supervisor to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced surveying professional who thrives in a leadership capacity and is passionate about delivering safe, accurate, and efficient surveying services in a fast-paced operational environment.

As a Technical Services Supervisor, you will play a key role in leading survey crews, coordinating field operations, supporting project execution, and ensuring high-quality survey deliverables. If you possess strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.

What You’ll Do
  • Supervise and coordinate daily surveying operations to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Manage drafting tasks and volume computations.
  • Prepare estimated quantities and oversee field quantity verification.
  • Lead, mentor, and support survey crews, including assigning tasks, providing technical guidance, and conducting performance feedback.
  • Ensure all surveying activities comply with company standards, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Review survey data, field notes, and deliverables for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
  • Plan and organize field work, including crew scheduling, equipment allocation, and logistics.
  • Maintain and oversee surveying equipment, ensuring proper use, calibration, and maintenance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between field crews, project management, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve field issues, technical challenges, and operational constraints in a timely manner.
  • Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies, including conducting job hazard assessments and safety meetings.
  • Assist with project planning, estimating, and progress tracking to support successful project execution.
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping, reporting, and documentation for crews and projects.
  • Support training and development initiatives to enhance crew competency and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to optimize surveying processes and service delivery.
What You Offer
  • Diploma or degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive surveying experience, preferably in mining, construction, or heavy civil environments.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience overseeing survey crews is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of surveying principles, field procedures, drafting, and volume calculations.
  • Proficiency with surveying instruments, GPS systems, total stations, and related software applications.
  • Experience with drafting and survey data processing software.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
