SaaS Growth Co is a fast-growing B2B software company serving 2,000+ customers worldwide. Our platform helps companies manage their operations more efficiently. We’re scaling rapidly and need strong technical leadership to build our platform team.
The RoleWe’re hiring an Engineering Lead to build and lead our Platform Team. You’ll manage a team of 5-7 engineers while remaining hands‑on with architecture and code. This role balances people management (60%) with technical leadership (40%).
What You’ll Do- Build and lead a high-performing platform engineering team
- Hire, mentor, and develop engineers (junior through senior levels)
- Define team roadmap and prioritize platform initiatives
- Architect scalable infrastructure and platform services
- Drive engineering best practices and technical standards
Collaborate with product teams to understand platform needs - Participate in hands‑on coding and architecture reviews
- Conduct 1‑on‑1s, performance reviews, and career development
- Foster team culture of quality, ownership, and collaboration
- Report to VP of Engineering on team progress and challenges
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- 2+ years of people management experience
- Strong technical background in backend/platform engineering
- Experience with Python, Go, or similar languages
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration
- Track record of building and scaling engineering teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to balance technical and people leadership
- Passion for mentoring and developing engineers
- Experience at high‑growth SaaS companies
- Background in Dev Ops or Site Reliability Engineering
- Understanding of observability and monitoring platforms
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi)
- Prior startup or scale‑up experience
- Competitive salary ($140K-$170K CAD)
