AboutThe Role
Supervisor, Autonomous Control – reports to the Manager of Mine Technical Services. Lead and coordinate the Autonomous Command team at Côté Gold Mine (Gogama, ON). The role involves coaching, training, and creating a supportive environment for team members to deliver safe and sustainable production.
Location:
Côté Gold Mine Site (Gogama, ON).
Schedule:
7 on / 7 off.
- Execute production targets aligned with mine designs and integrated mine-to-mill plans through close collaboration with business partners.
- Monitor operational compliance and benchmarks, investigate root causes for shortfalls, and identify growth opportunities.
- Maximize fleet productivity and equipment efficiency through precise, real‑time management and data‑driven oversight.
- Optimize autonomous operations by strictly managing safety procedures and leveraging systems to support the team.
- Drive operational excellence by utilizing technology and strong leadership to minimize delays and troubleshoot inefficiencies.
- Mitigate upcoming risks and prioritize safe production, ensuring all decisions align with core company values.
- Lead and mentor control room personnel, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high‑level technical expertise.
- Coordinate cross‑functionally to ensure clear communication, accurate reporting, and reliable shift results.
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Post‑secondary education in a mining‑related discipline is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience.
- 5 or more years of experience in an open‑pit mining environment with autonomous operations.

- Previous exposure to Autonomous Controller or Dispatch is highly regarded but not essential.
- Sound knowledge of open‑pit mining fundamentals and autonomous mining operations.
- Experience in supervision and management of dynamic teams.
- Advanced computer literacy.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to work under pressure.
- College diplomas or university degrees in a related field such as air traffic control, robotics, or autonomous systems is considered an asset.
