Reporting to the Metallurgy Superintendent, you will be part of the Process Plant Department. You will perform best practices and comply with procedures that are specific to metallurgy in terms of reporting, testing, sampling on all circuits of the process, and equipment follow up. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Responsibilities- Work in a safe and environmentally responsible way
- Provide daily technical support to mill & lab operations and assist operations with implementation of new plan practices
- Responsible for the Metallurgy laboratory daily routines
- Perform and prepare different sampling campaigns in the process for analysis
- Inspect and monitor the process samplers
- Fill, compile and analyze metallurgy data to create metallurgical models and optimize the process
- Perform specific surveys of the crushing, grinding, leach/stripping circuits for KPI validation
- Validate the accuracy of the measurement equipment, perform the required maintenance and fill out work orders accordingly
- Improve the content of existing procedures
- Apply the best metallurgy practices
- Any other duty required by the Metallurgy Superintendent
- Enrolled in a degree program majoring in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or related field
- Students must be enrolled in their university’s formal Co‑op program
- Must have strong interpersonal, communication and team building skills
- Strong ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as a member of a team
- Strong work ethic with the ability to handle change
- Demonstrate a high level of energy, self‑motivation, and strong organizational skills
- Promote a safety mindset and approach to ensure that all projects and activities carried out comply with safety regulations and AEM standards
- Strong communication skills including verbal and written as well as presentation skills required
- Experience working in a multicultural environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & Power Point
4/3 schedule at our Macassa Mine Site, located in Kirkland Lake, ON; able to modify schedules to support ongoing test work and projects.
CompensationIn accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
