Drive ground control excellence as the General Supervisor at Agnico Eagle’s Macassa Mine. Focus on strategic geotechnical practices and personnel development.
Reporting to the Manager of Technical Services, you will manage critical ground control functions within Agnico Eagle’s Engineering Department. This leadership role requires you to identify gaps in geotechnical practices, mentor teams, and ensure adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will be vital in implementing effective improvement initiatives across various mine sites.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct assessments of geotechnical and rock support systems
• Collaborate on improvement projects with site teams
• Provide mentoring in geotechnical disciplines
• Review assumptions for long-term operational plans
• Ensure that safety protocols are consistently followed
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s in Mining Engineering or relevant field
• 10 years of ground control experience in mines
• 4 years’ supervisory experience
• Knowledge of rock mass characterization techniques
• Experience in Northern Ontario mining environments
