Overview
As a Senior Piping Engineer, you will lead mechanical piping design packages from concept through detailed engineering, guiding multidisciplinary teams and ensuring technical excellence on mining, metals, and industrial infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities- Lead mechanical piping design packages from concept development through detailed engineering, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with project goals.
- Develop piping systems, specifications, calculations, and deliverables that support safe, reliable, and high‑performing operations for mining, metals, heavy industrial clients.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate piping design with process, structural, electrical, controls, and construction requirements.
- Review designs, drawings, and engineering documents to ensure quality, constructability, and adherence to industry codes and best practices.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to intermediate and junior engineers, supporting team growth and capability development.
- Engage directly with clients, contractors, and internal partners to solve complex technical challenges and advance project delivery.
- University Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- At least 15years of piping engineering experience in mining and heavy industrial projects.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada, or eligibility for one.
- Proven experience solving real‑world engineering challenges, from equipment specification to systems design and integration.
- Comfortable working in the field or on site as needed, adhering to all safety requirements.
- Working proficiency with mechanical design and modeling tools, and a commitment to continuous technical growth.
Base salary ranges – based on location:
- AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122,900 – $162,800
- MB & ON: $112,100 – $154,400
- NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $111,000 – $147,400
Final salary awarded may vary based on education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The wage range may be subject to change for business purposes.
