As part of the team at Discovery, you will leverage your expertise in rock mechanics to advise on geotechnical risk and improve workforce awareness. Collaborate with engineers and operations to ensure adherence to the site’s Ground Control Management Plan. Your analytical skills will play a key role in mine planning and slope stability assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with the Ground Control Management Plan
• Inspect pit and surface geotechnical infrastructures
• Conduct numerical modeling and analysis for slope stability
• Perform quality audits of waste dump designs
• Guide engineering reports and training activities
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining or Geotechnical Engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer in Canada
• Minimum 5 years in rock mechanics or underground mining
• Supervisory experience is required
• Familiarity with Deswik and other software is a plus
