GIS Internship in Forest Planning

Interfor is seeking an intern to join its forestry team for a 4 to 8 month term starting in May. As a student pursuing a degree in Forestry, GIS, or related fields, you will work with professionals to support forest planning and operational projects. Expect to enhance your analytical skills by creating and analyzing maps using GIS technology.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide support for forest planning activities
• Assist in road construction program planning
• Create and update spatial data and maps
• Connect field data with GIS technologies
• Develop problem-solving skills with experienced staff
Requirements:
• Pursuing a degree in Forestry, GIS, or similar
• Proficiency in Arc Map, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work outdoors under diverse conditions
• Valid driver’s license required
