- We’re actively searching for an Autonomous System Command Controller to join the Côté Gold team, with a start date to be determined, reporting to the Supervisor, Autonomous Control. This role manages in-shift performance of the Autonomous Haulage fleet, ensuring safe, efficient execution of Mine Star Command and production plans. This role is critical to IMG’s purpose by enabling safe, optimized, and reliable autonomous operations.
Through real-time decision-making and collaboration, the Command Controller maximizes fleet productivity, reduces operational variability, and ensures mining targets are achieved efficiently and sustainably.
- Execute the production schedule by optimizing AHS assignments, monitoring fleet performance, and collaborating with field teams to reduce variability and capitalize on operational opportunities.
- Monitor compliance with operational benchmarks, analyze data integrity, and investigate root causes of production shortfalls or deviations from plan.
- Maximize equipment productivity by tracking system data, reporting maintenance issues promptly, and minimizing delays including fueling, tire management, and routine servicing.
- Utilize system data and applications (equipment status, tire management, weather, maintenance tools) to inform real-time decisions and maintain operational continuity.
- Identify inefficiencies, prioritize competing operational demands, and implement improvements that enhance throughput, quality, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
- Lead and coordinate communication between control room and field teams, ensuring alignment on priorities, accurate reporting, and timely resolution of issues.
- Provide leadership and guidance to operators and stakeholders, supporting safe operations, mentoring team members, and fostering continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation, ensure data integrity, and collaborate across teams to address deficiencies and support reliable, high-performing autonomous operations.
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- College diplomas or university degrees in a related field such as air traffic control, robotics, or autonomous systems is considered an asset.
- 5 or more years of experience in an open pit mining environment, air traffic control or autonomous operations environment
