About the job

As a member of an Area Enforcement Team, you will:

  • provide education and information related to natural resource management, resource use and protection to various client groups
  • conduct regular audits/inspections of resource users (hunters, anglers), commercial operators (trappers, aggregates companies), identifying, investigating, and reporting on instances of non-compliance, apprehending violators (e.g. night hunters and/or careless hunters), and laying charges as appropriate;
  • plan, lead, and conduct inspection and investigation activities, search and seizure actions, obtain evidence by ensuring proper collection, custody and control
  • interview informants, third party witnesses, suspected violators and/or their legal representatives
  • complete legal documents, prepare crown briefs and provide testimony in court
  • participate in Joint Forces Operations with law enforcement partner agencies e.g. Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Canadian Wildlife Service, police agencies, etc.
  • work independently and as part of a team to conduct enforcement operations including patrols by vessels, snowmobiles, ATV's, aircraft, foot and trucks

NOTE:

This position requires:

  • work shifts, weekends and holidays
  • travel for extended periods of time
  • work outdoors in inclement weather in remote and isolated locations
What you bring to the team
Mandatory:
  • You must possess oral French language skills at the advanced level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire.
  • The position requires the successful candidates to have a valid class G driver's licence or equivalent. The offer of employment is conditional upon the successful candidate providing proof that they have a valid driver's license upon being hired.
  • You have successfully completed the PARE, PREP or ES
