Work Schedule: 5-5-4 rotation, 12-hour shifts. Although this is the established schedule, the company reserves the right to modify it as needed to meet operational requirements.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Northern Sun Mining currently has an exciting opportunity for a Crusher Loader Operator to join our Operations teams. Reporting to the Mill Shift Supervisor, the Crusher Loader Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining heavy duty equipment, specifically loaders, to support the efficient and safe operation of the crushing plant. This role is crucial in maintaining constant flow of ore to the crusher while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.

Please note that this is not a camp-based position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain constant ore feed to the crushing plant while in operation.
  • Safely operate a loader to push and move material.
  • Conduct pre-operation checks and documentation.
  • Maintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance, and other relevant information.
  • Utilize and maintain all prescribed safety equipment.
  • Inspect equipment daily and perform basic maintenance checks to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Keep work areas clean and clear of obstructions, ensuring compliance with site safety and environmental standards.
  • Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.
  • Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in operating heavy equipment in a mining or aggregate environment.
  • MTCU Basic Mill Operator Common Core.
  • Valid heavy equipment operator certification is highly regarded.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Ability to operate equipment in all weather conditions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for addressing equipment issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
