  • Current registration and certification of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Undergraduate degree in Nursing preferred)
  • Successful completion of the Renal Module of a recognized critical care course preferred
Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 3 years current nursing experience
  • Current experience in Nephrology and Haemodialysis is required.
  • Code White certification
  • Well developed Patient Assessment, Planning Intervention and Evaluation Skills
  • Computer literacy and Meditech knowledge and experience
Abilities:
  • Ability to organize related activities; to remain flexible; and adapt to crisis situations and rapid change
  • Ability to manage a variety of patient conditions
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, statutory holidays, and on call
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to customers and CQI principles.
  • Demonstrate leadership, problem solving, decision‑making, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to function appropriately in an emergency situation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to function as an independent primary nurse.
  • Excellent interviewing and patient assessment skills.
  • Good attendance and work record is essential
  • Self‑directed, motivated team player with a commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education
  • Sound critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution and timely decision making skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and organizational skills
  • Consistently meets attendance expectations, demonstrating reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts.
