Become an Offender Transport Officer with the Ontario Provincial Police, where you will oversee the safe transport of individuals in custody. This role spans several locations in Ontario and is vital to court operations.
The Ministry of the Solicitor General is seeking qualified applicants for fixed-term contracts in the Offender Transport Unit. You will ensure secure custody during offender transport, maintain transport equipment, and manage court liaison services. A focus on safety and physically demanding tasks is essential while adhering to OPP standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise transport of offenders to and from court
• Liaise with courts to manage case files
• Ensure proper escorting of offenders during hearings
• Maintain and check equipment for safety
• Enforce workplace violence prevention policies
Requirements:
• Pass OPP background/security and psychological assessments
• Secondary School Diploma or equivalent required
• Certification in emergency first aid and CPR Level “C”
• Maintain basic physical fitness standards
• Valid G class Ontario Driver’s License
