Student Support Consultant Ontario

Join the District School Board Ontario North East as a Student Support Consultant. This role involves direct assessments and developing individualized behavioral support strategies for students.

Reporting to the Special Education Lead, you will provide critical support in educational settings, working alongside school teams to create and implement Behavior Support Plans and Safety Plans. Candidates must have a degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, alongside experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct direct observations and assessments of students

• Develop and implement individualized Behavior Support Plans

• Collaborate with educators on classroom strategies

• Provide training and consultation to school staff

• Complete necessary documentation and reports

Requirements:

• Degree in Psychology or Social Work

• Knowledge of community service programs

• Valid driver's license for transportation

• Experience with diverse populations in education

• Certification in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention preferred
