Position Summary

Timmins Transit’s mission is “to excel in the provision of a safe, reliable, efficient and customer service focused public transportation system”. As a transit driver you play a key role in providing this service. This is an opportunity to apply your skills in a unique customer-service role.

• Safely operate Timmins Transit buses and transport passengers on assigned routes within route times
• Create a positive experience for transit users by providing safe, reliable and friendly service
• Required to participate and support the City of Timmins Continuous Improvement Program in order to help foster a culture of operational excellence
• Ability to perform other duties as assigned

• Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) education or equivalency
• Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely and possess a Class CZ driver’s licence
• Ability to be Para-Transit qualified
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills in dealing with the public, staff and outside agencies in a courteous and effective manner
• Prior customer service experience preferred
• Be able to work a flexible work schedule including shift work and weekend work
• Have good knowledge of City streets, bus routes and schedules
• Ability to perform service duties in garage (if required)
• Ability to compile various reports
• Clear Driver’s Abstract required
• Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen required
