Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $28.00 - $31.00 / hour
ObjectivePerform maintenance functions, including diagnosis and correction, on extrusion, finishing, support equipment, and facilities, independently or as directed by management.
Essential Functions- Ordering parts as needed from suppliers to maintain equipment and facilities; help maintain and control parts inventory systems; ensuring adequate inventories of materials used in everyday production and tooling repair processes.
- Reading and understanding electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
- Connecting to PLC and HMI for troubleshooting or program upload/download; making minor program modifications.
- Performing preventative maintenance audits and required repairs; overseeing data entry and monitoring P.M. programs.
- Ensuring proper collection, storage, and disposal of waste materials, including oils, fluorescent lamps, batteries, etc.
- Coordinating, monitoring, and assisting work performed by outside contractors as necessary.
- Familiarizing with and adhering to current OSHA and NEC regulations.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
- Touring the plant on a routine basis to inspect machinery and processes and taking action to correct unsafe working conditions and/or violations of safety rules.
- Having the necessary tools, test equipment, and understanding required to perform the job adequately.
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and noise. The environment is not temperature controlled and may present high heat conditions.
Physical DemandsRegularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; occasionally sit, climb or balance, kneel, crouch or crawl; lift, push, pull up to 100 pounds and routinely lift up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
TravelNo travel is expected.
Education and Experience- High School Diploma/GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Prior manufacturing experience required; plastic, extrusion, and injection molding experience preferred.
- Prior experience working with and operating manufacturing machinery preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Capable of multi‑tasking in a fast‑paced environment.
- Attention to detail; concentration.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work directly and indirectly with other staff members; act as a member of a team.
- Able to follow instructions and production requirements.
- Able to act quickly when a problem arises; solve problems and make decisions as needed.
- The capacity to identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook; ERP experience is a plus.
- Ability to use and be proficient with hand tools.
- Mechanical aptitude.
