Job Summary

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for learning the management of a small driver count and/or non-traditional shifts (including nights and weekends), ensuring safe and timely movement of freight, load assignment, and providing best‑in‑class customer service. The role includes training to ensure compliance with DOT regulations, overseeing all drivers’ compliance with company regulations, and collaborating with internal and external contacts to accurately plan, route, monitor, and deliver freight and loads.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and outside carriers to ensure seamless new carrier set‑up, minimize turnover, and maximize ongoing productivity.
  • Support absent or unavailable personnel and work on special projects related to optimizing fleet operations and profitability.
  • Manage personnel, including training and orientation of drivers and employees, and assist with internal and third‑party customer systems.
  • Maximize fleet efficiency and profitability by measuring KPIs, creating, maintaining, and presenting customer‑specific reporting and financial analysis, and recommending continuous improvement.
  • Manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment in the market.
  • Perform administrative duties such as payroll, Net‑Revenue budget management, driver counseling, accident reviews, filing, pay issue resolution, P&L analysis, invoicing, and operational or financial reporting.
  • Oversee yard operations, including equipment inspection, repair coordination, preventative maintenance scheduling, and mechanical issue resolution for account equipment.
  • Collaborate with drivers, customers, and company personnel to resolve service issues, routing and planning challenges, mechanical problems, & accessorial pay issues, on a daily basis and when on call.
  • Maintain the company’s safety culture through daily safety messages, monthly briefings, quarterly training, annual reviews, and enforcing DOT compliance and company safety policies.
  • Assign loads, plan routes, and monitor freight movement to provide safe, on‑time service, managing freight exceptions, driver ETA adjustments, and customer requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of experience in management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or related field, and/or equivalent military experience.
  • Willingness to travel to account, customer, and company event locations when applicable.
  • Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.
  • Willingness to relocate regionally based on account assignment.

Compensation

Expected starting pay range: $42,000 – $63,000. Position is not eligible for employment‑based sponsorship. Annual bonus and incentives may be available based on profitability or volume in accordance with company plans.
