Job Summary
This is an entry-level administrative support position under the general direction of the Senior Manager or Manager of Customer Service. This position provides customer service and knowledge of Florida law, regulation and BCPAO policies related to all ad valorem property tax exemptions.
- Processes exemption applications. Explains exemptions currently available to property owners, receives information from property owners, and completes the application process.
- Communicates with customers regarding exemption issues, either in person or by telephone, electronic means or in writing.
- Explains the general assessment procedures used to assess real estate in arriving at a qualified market value.
- Accepts requests for other service issues from property owners.
- Responds to property-related inquiries from the general public; directing public to proper agency for inquiries unrelated to BCPAO functions.
- Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
- High school diploma/GED, with particular emphasis during high school in office/clerical/administrative skills.
- Three (3) Years Of Direct Customer Service Experience.
- Valid Florida driver's license.
- Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines.
While performing the functions of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; frequently required to walk; and the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, continuously lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
