As a key technical leader, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive the design, testing, and certification of propulsion components and subsystems, ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance.
If you are passionate about rocket propulsion and eager to contribute to groundbreaking aerospace projects, this role offers the chance to make a lasting impact on the future of space travel.
- Assists in the definition of requirements for propulsion system components used in vehicle cryogenic fuel / oxidizer, bi‑prop / mono‑prop, pneumatic, hydraulic or pyrotechnic systems
- Assists in defining, coordinating and controlling the functional and physical interfaces between the components within the propulsion system
- Assists in developing and maintaining envelope drawings (EDs) / component specifications for associated vehicle components to meet customer and regulatory requirements, including processing engineering changes and documentation updates
- Documents configurations and designs of propulsion components; assists in developing the rationale needed to make sound technical decisions regarding component design and development
- Assists in using various testing, analysis, modeling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate component performance
- Assists in the performance of propulsion component qualification / certification testing
- Assists in supporting fielded components to assure continued reliability and airworthiness
- Assists in identifying and managing propulsion risks, issues, and opportunities: assists in developing mitigation/capture plans, estimating cost and schedule impact, updating risk tracking systems (e.g. BORIS) and communicating to propulsion RIO Control Board
- Assists in developing and maintaining Supplier Statements of Work (SSOW) for programs developing vehicle components to meet customer and regulatory requirements
- Assist in technical evaluations of supplier proposals and coordinate with supplier management and cost account management to develop budgets for supplier efforts
- Assists in component failure investigations and non‑conformance closures through Material Review Board (MRB) and other internal and customer boards, coordinating with Boeing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Integrated Product Team (IPT) members as needed
- Assists with execution of technical interchange meetings and component reviews, including supplier requirements review (SRR), design reviews (PDR / CDR), acceptance reviews, test readiness reviews (TRR), and production readiness reviews (PRR)
- Assists with the review of supplier data requirement list (SDRL) items and engineering drawings to ensure design and requirement compliance
- Assist with regular (e.g. weekly) technical coordination meetings with Propulsion IPT leadership, other Boeing groups / leaders, suppliers, and customers, reporting component status / issues to internal leadership and customer; assist Cost Account Managers in program baseline status weekly updates
