Job SummaryUnder minimal supervision, operate, set up, and program CNC machinery to manufacture metallic and non‑metallic parts. This 2nd shift position (M‑F 2:30‑10:30 pm) requires proficiency in G & M code, CAD/CAM software, fixture design, and work‑holding knowledge. The role also demands strong leadership skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints; possess GD&T knowledge
- Safely load and unload raw materials
- Use measuring instruments and part layout effectively
- Utilize gauges and instruments to meet tolerance requirements
- Power on and operate CNC lathes and mills independently
- Familiar with MAZAK, Haas, and Fanuc controls
- Understand cutting tools and perform tool wear offsets
- Use inserts, fixtures, and tooling properly
- Conduct daily cleaning and light maintenance of CNC machinery
- Maintain machine shop organization
- Provide feedback for process improvement
- Follow manufacturing processes, procedures, ISO, and safety requirements
- Adhere to quality policies, specifications, and regulations
- Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with co‑workers and management
- Attend meetings, provide meaningful input, and participate professionally
- Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques
- Preferred: 10 years experience with CNC machining; aerospace experience a plus
- Required:
high school diploma or GED; associate’s degree or equivalent training preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication in English
- Basic mathematical skills (fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions)
- Analytical problem‑solving: define problems, collect data, draw conclusions
- Ability to lift 50 lb and operate overhead crane; stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; adequate vision
- Work in moderate to high‑noise environment
