Tool Maker​/Model Maker

Tool Maker/Model Maker role at Knight Enterprises Management, LLC. The position is responsible for planning the total process required to produce the one-off manufacture of prototype parts, including designing temporary fixtures and work holding.

• Set up and operation of all CNC or conventional machine tools and grinding equipment in the Model Shop.
• Read drawings and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to ANSI-Y-14.5 standards, up to Level III.
• Program offline using Mastercam X and above versions; produce CAM programs for multi-axis milling, multi-plane machining, and surface machining.
• Inspect the finished product and troubleshoot problems in assembly or testing; organize the manufacture of multiple part revisions throughout development; maintain an audit trail for program and design changes.
• Plan and design temporary fixtures and work holding as part of the manufacturing process.
• Work safely and diligently on every task.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Five plus years experience producing components on CNC machine tools.
• Qualified individual with 5 plus years experience preferred.
• CAD/CAM CNC machining and programming capability.
• Valid driver's license.
• Excellent math skills including basic mathematics, plane geometry, and trigonometry.

• Set up and operate all CNC or conventional machine tools and grinding equipment in the Model Shop.
• Read drawings and interpret GD&T.
• Detect errors or irregularities and make corrections; maintain an audit trail for changes in programs and designs; recalculate designs as needed.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of drawings to ANSI Y-14.5 format up to Level III.
• Commit to safe, careful, and diligent work on all tasks.
