Under the general supervision of the Executive Director/Director/Clinical Coordinator, the RN is responsible for providing nursing care appropriate to the ages of the patients served. The RN works through team nursing and the multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the plan of care, ensuring it is of high quality, timely and effective. The RN utilizes the Person- and Family
- Centered Care Model to recognize and address family needs, integrating family caregivers as partners in care.

- Perform physical and psychosocial assessment, record and analyze patient medical history, monitor, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions; conduct reassessments within defined time frames.
- Administer medications, infusion therapy, and treatments using barcode scanning and evidence-based safety procedures.
- Lead and coordinate care: initiate care plans, collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, and customize treatment plans based on patient responses.
- Appropriately coordinate, delegate, and supervise duties of other health‑care personnel including Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Aides, and Patient Care Sitters.
- Apply critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to implement direct patient care and treatments, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
- Evaluate effectiveness of planned interventions relative to patient responses and expected outcomes; document and communicate actions to maintain continuity among the nursing team.
- Communicate effectively with co‑workers, physicians, patients, families, and other health‑care team members; use SBAR format for handoffs and changes in patient status.
- Document care concisely and legibly on appropriate forms, following accepted standards, ensuring safety, timeliness, and cost‑effectiveness.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient education; instruct patients and families on health topics and help them make informed decisions about their care.
- Participate in Quality Monitoring/Performance Improvement, incorporating evidence‑based practices into daily care.
Formal
Education:
- Associate Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Graduate of an RN education program (accredited preferred).
Work Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience.
Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
- State of Florida RN
- BLS through American Heart Association required
- NIH certification required
- ACLS or PALS or NRP certification preferred
