Manager Nurse Assistant – Assisted Living

Providing direct nursing care to residents on assigned floors and supervising CNAs and HHAs in a therapeutic, safe environment.

• Provide individualized nursing care based on established protocols, monitoring pain, oxygen therapy, drainage, dressings, and incontinent elimination.
• Assess physical, emotional, social, educational, and functional needs through observation, interview, and physical examination.
• Interpret assessment data to assist in developing a plan of care.
• Ensure accurate transcription and processing of medical orders and integrate the medical care plan into nursing care.
• Administer medications per physician orders, following nursing policies and procedures, and document on the Meds on Rounds (MOR) system.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation consistent with the resident plan of care.
• Assemble resident charts, records, and complete necessary forms, including monthly summaries.
• Prepare incident/accident reports, notify the Facilitated Living Director, physician, and family per policy, and document accordingly.
• Assist residents with self‑care activities.
• Supervise nursing tasks for the resident team, ensuring special instructions are followed.
• Observe and oversee meals to guarantee residents receive the appropriate diet and assistance.
• Organize material resources needed for the unit’s residents.
• Recognize emergencies and life‑threatening situations and initiate appropriate action.
• Respond promptly to resident call lights and meet their needs timely and appropriately.
• Orient new staff members.
• Ensure scheduled activities take place on the unit, utilizing personnel for activities and nursing support.

• Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university or one to two years of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Field of study:
  Nursing.
• Minimum 1+ year nursing experience in a health‑care facility.
• Active LPN/LVN or RN license with a current and active LOP license in the applicable state.
• Acceptable fluency in English for performing job duties and communicating with supervisors, coworkers, residents, and third parties.
• Proficient in clinical techniques, including emergency procedures, skin management, hydration therapy, and other nursing procedures.
• Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile residents.
• Excellent supervisory skills.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with all staff members.
• Willingness to pursue education credits necessary to maintain licensure and certification.
